DURING MY STAY:

In your own home overnight, and the most time as possible during the day.

Obviously I can’t offer a 24 hour service in your home as I have a life and other basic commitments to attend to, but I assume this is similar to the routine they may have with you and your job. However, I will stay for sure overnight with your cat, and I will be with your cat as much as possible during the day as I also enjoy interacting with cats and this is the main reason why I’m a cat sitter.

b) PROVIDE FOOD –

A minimum of 2 times a day and a maximum of 4 times a day (according to his dietary guidelines). Yes, I can also provide treats, extra food for a day of extra hunger after a lot of activity, or a birthday dessert when you are not there and as long as it is allowed in their diet.

c) PROVIDE FRESH WATER –

Provide clean, fresh water at least twice a day.

d) CLEANING THE FEEDING AREA –

Daily cleaning of food and water bowls and the area around them.

e) LITTER BOX CLEANING –

Daily cleaning of the litter box and removal of soiled litter.

f) EXERCISE AND PLAY –

At least once a day I will make sure your cat is stimulated and actively playing with me (if he is willing). Some cats can be shy or a bit lazy, but I will always try to entertain them and get them to trust me. But remember: “The cat is always right, even when he is wrong”.

g) CUDDLES AND CARESSES –

This will also depend on your cat’s demands or desire to ask for or receive it, but I will be more than willing to do this all the time I am in his company.

h) ACCESS TO A FENCED GARDEN OR PATIO –

I will let your cat out if you have an enclosed garden or patio.

i) DAILY REPORTS –

I will be in contact with you via Whatsapp, and I will send you photos or short videos so you can see how your cat is doing. I will send you all the photos and videos I can take.

I will let you know about the good things and also the bad things if they happen, for example vomiting, as this may be occasional and/or a health problem and you need to be warned. I understand that this is something natural that can happen and I will not charge you extra for cleaning it (some sitters do), but you should be aware of it, as well as if your cat damages something, as the behaviour of cats can sometimes be different with sitters than with owners – mischief, distrust (fear od the fireworks), breaking things, not sleeping in the bed, hiding things and then claiming them back. This is usually something that most of them get over quickly, but it is important that you are aware of it.

But remember, the best cat sitter is the one who takes care of your cat, not the one who takes photos or videos of it. These are a demonstration that your cat is OK with me, and you will receive at least one per day, but I will do them according to the availability of opportunity and the desire and/or speed of the cat. The best moments are always lost in spontaneity and speed, or because I’m not carrying your cat and my mobile phone.

j) INFORM YOUR NEIGHBOURS –

In the Netherlands, neighbours often get worried when they see someone they don’t know in your house during your absence, so please inform your neighbours about my presence in your house, who I am, why I will be there and in any case so that I can contact them if necessary without causing them to mistrust me.

k) INFORM YOUR TRUSTED PERSON –

Please inform a friend or relative who has a key to your house who you can contact in case of an emergency with your cat/house or if you are delayed in returning.

l)INFORM ME AND YOUR CLEANER –

If you have a person who regularly comes to clean your house and who will be coming during my stay, let me know, but also let them know who will be in the house.
In the Netherlands, neighbours often get worried when they see someone they don’t know in your house during your absence, so please inform your neighbours about my presence in your house, who I am, why I will be there and in any case so that I can contact them if necessary without causing them to mistrust me.

m) WHAT WILL I USE IN YOUR HOME DURING MY STAY –

I will only use the basic necessities in your house so that I can live in it for the agreed period of time to look after your cat (kitchen, bathroom, bed that you assign me, washing machine, fridge, vacuum cleaner, wifi, etc.). / the TV is optional).

I will appreciate if you leave basic consumables such as toilet paper, kitchen paper, bin liners. Anything else you would like to leave for my use is appreciated but not necessary.

n) WHAT I WILL NOT BE USING IN YOUR HOUSE DURING MY STAY –

I will not use anything of a strictly personal nature, such as your computer, your clothes (except for the sheets and towels you provide), your beauty or hygiene products, or items from your pantry. My food and personal belongings during my stay will be at my expense.

I will NOT receive visitors during the agreed period of my stay in your home, there will only be your cat and myself.

For this reason it is important that you let me know, for example, if you are waiting for a delivery of an item you have purchased, as otherwise I will not take care to receive it, nor will I open the door for it.

Similarly, I need to know if the person who usually does the cleaning will be coming to your house, as well as the day and time they will be coming, for security reasons that someone will be entering the house, and also for privacy while I am there.

Important:

I’m an honest person, so I will not touch anything of value in your house, but for security reasons, and especially if there are other people who can enter the house, such as the person who does the cleaning, or other people with access keys, I would prefer that your valuables (jewellery, documents, money) be kept in a place where no one can access them while you are away. Thank you very much!

o) HOUSE MAINTENANCE –

I will keep the areas of your home that I use during my service clean of any dirt that may be generated by my own use and/or accumulation over the days. This includes: vacuuming to pick up cat hair, crumbs or dust, washing floors that may have been affected by your cat’s accidents, shower, toilet, kitchen.

p) SHEETS AND TOWELS –

On the day my service ends I will remove the sheets from the bed I have used and put them in the washing machine with the towels and tea towels I have used. It will depend on the time I finish my service whether I can wash them and/or put them in the tumble dryer (if you have one) or leave them there for you to do yourself, but you do not have to touch them. I will do the washing once a week if the service is long.

q) PLANTS –

If you have any plants I will be happy to look after them too, but I will not be responsible for their condition if they are in poor condition when I start looking after them – this can be seen in our pre-interview and/or I will inform you of this on the day my service starts.

r) MAIL –

I can collect your mail from your letterbox and leave it in a visible place in your home for you to check when you return (sometimes letterboxes are not very big and letters get stuck if you are away for too many days). There is no extra charge or hassle for me for this.

s) COLLECTION OF PHOTOS AND VIDEOS –

Some days after I finish my services of cat-sitting, you will receive a video of all the photos I have taken of your cat during my stay at your home.
